Kaseya's' Managed Services Software Selected by Redbox to Help Manage Their 2,500 Plus Kiosks Across the Country.

San Francisco, California (PRWEB) November 29, 2006 -- Redbox, the nation's leader in fully automated DVD rental systems, has chosen Kaseya's managed services software to help manage their 2,500 plus kiosks across the country.

Redbox will also be able to streamline the implementation of adding new kiosks to the network by utilizing the Kaseya Agent to replicate the configuration of each new kiosk they add to their network.

Ideally, I wanted to get something that was mostly turnkey and didn't require a lot of time and effort on our side," says Eric Hoersten, the Vice President of IT at Redbox. "We had a lot of challenges specifically with introducing software updates, staying compliant with regulatory standards and remote troubleshooting, especially given that these machines are all over the country," Hoersten says.

"Our machines are networked, so we needed to find a way to do it centrally without putting too many hours into sending staff out in the field. We also needed a comprehensive, yet flexible technology because the issues that needed to be addressed on rental kiosks ranged from complying with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security standard to simply rebooting machines," Hoersten explains. "By allowing us to keep our systems updated with security patches and auditing functionality, Kaseya enables us to both better manage and secure our distributed network of rental kiosks. As we are going through a rapid growth phase, we are looking to Kaseya to help us with the scalability of the Redbox systems, which could mean features such as bandwidth throttling as we get more kiosks."
