Naturopathic Physician Ralph Potter Offers Free Lecture on Wilson's Temperature Syndrome

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWeb) January 7, 2007 -- Dr. Ralph Potter will conduct an interactive lecture on Wilson's Temperature Syndrome, at 7 p.m. January 22 at Natural Path Medical Center, 8040 E. Morgan Trail, Suite 5a in Scottsdale. The lecture is free, but seating is limited. To register call 480-603-9273.

Dr. Potter said those who suffer from this disorder have body temperatures that consistently run well below 98.6, resulting in a variety of "sluggish" symptoms.

"Individuals with Wilson's Temperature Syndrome have symptoms of hypothyroidism, even though their blood test results are normal," said Potter. "A few of the symptoms include fatigue, inability to lose weight (despite their efforts to diet or exercise), dry skin, depression, high cholesterol and feeling cold all the time."

The therapy for Wilson's Temperature Syndrome essentially recalibrates the body's "thermostat". Diagnosis involves some basic blood work to ensure there is not something more serious going on, a physical exam, and an EKG.

Dr. Potter said many individuals with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia also benefit from this treatment since it addresses the primary cause of the illness and not just the symptoms. After a diagnosis of WTS, the patient cycles on and off of prescriptions medication, typically for three to six months, under careful medical supervision.

Dr. Potter, NMD, is a licensed naturopathic primary physician who uses both the latest in technology, as well as ancient Chinese formulas to help patients maintain optimal health. In addition to his training as a naturopathic physician, he is certified in the treatment of WTS. He also received additional specialized training in hypnotherapy, acupuncture, natural IV therapy and neurotransmitter testing.
