Pandora Corp. Releases First Post-Beta Version of Free 'Pandora Recovery' Software

The Updated Solution:
Pandora Corp. has proudly released the first post-Beta version of its free data recovery tool, Pandora Recovery, a program that allows PC users to find and recover deleted files from NTFS-formatted volumes. As long as the deleted file's space has not been reused yet, Pandora Recovery can successfully recover content of any deleted file. Overwritten files can still be recovered, but they most likely will not be usable.

"We wanted to create a program that would recover as much as possible for our users," says Pandora Corp. co-founder Manny Coats. "In addition, we recognized the fact that constantly updating the tool would prove useful for our users."

Based on feedback received from the program's initial release, Pandora Corp. has made several improvements that widen the spectrum of recoverable lost data, and make it even easier to recover that data.

Pandora Recovery 1.1.20's biggest improvement is the available surface (cluster) scan of targeted media. This allows recovery of files whose MFT (Master File Table) record has been reused, plus recovery of files from reformatted media and from discs with damaged or missing file allocation table.

"This technology also brings us one step closer to implementation of an often-requested feature - recovery of pictures deleted from digital cameras," says Chief Technical Officer, Bojan Gajic. "We are not there, yet. But, we will be by the end of 2007."

The program's interface Wizard has also been updated, which includes an embedded image viewer, for easier use. It has also recently earned a spot on download.com.

"We've also added an in-software feedback form," says Gajic. "We want you to help us make this software even better! Tell us what you want to see - and we'll try our best to add it on."

And don't worry - the software is still free to everyone.

"Everyone makes mistakes. You shouldn't always have to pay for them," says Leasure.

Coming Next:
"As we did with our current updated edition, we're going to keep expanding the realm of possibilities of where to locate lost data," concludes Gajic. "We're working on making it possible to get corrupted or lost data off old Windows 95 and 98 drives, as well as old floppy discs and even memory cards from digital cameras."

Gajic says the company is also looking at making the program available on a flash stick, which will allow users to run the program directly and not have to install it - which leads to more data being overwritten.

System Requirements: Pandora Recovery requires Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server or Windows Vista for installation. Pandora Recovery currently only recovers deleted data from NTFS formatted drives.
