Leading Internet Marketer Unveils "Toolbar Station," First Directory of Free Browser Toolbars Brings Powerful New Capabilities to Consumers Surfing th
Poughkeepsie, NY (PRWEB) July 10, 2007 -- Bruce Judson, one of the nation's leading Internet marketers, announced today the launch of Toolbar Station (http://www.ToolbarStation.com) the world's first directory of free, browser toolbars.
Bruce Judson is launching the directory in response to his own frustrations. Over the past few years, a large number of specialized, powerful toolbars have been released. Judson, who likes the added functionality and time-saving ability of toolbars, was unable to find a central resource that would tell him what types of toolbars were available. Today, he is launching Toolbar Station (http://www.ToolbarStation.com) as a means of closing the information gap for Web surfers. Now, consumers can easily find these free, valuable Web resources.
Toolbars are typically horizontal rows of buttons, icons and text that appear below the main part of an Internet browser. Toolbars are designed to add innovative, new functions and abilities to browsers. Many consumers are familiar with the toolbars released by the major search engines, but "most people don't know that there are now a large number of specialized toolbars that can make life easier for you across the full range of your activities," Judson said. "Today, toolbars can protect you from scams as you surf the Web, ensure you are buying products at the cheapest available prices, automatically keep you up-to-date on your participation in Web auctions, alert you to new freelance job opportunities, help you manage your participation in Web social networks, and verify the reliability of health information you find on the Web," he added.
"As the Web has moved off the desktop, browser wars have evolved into toolbar wars and the consumer is the beneficiary," said Judson. "Today, special purpose toolbars add new capabilities to Internet browser, at no cost to users." he added. Judson estimates there are now several thousand useful toolbars.
"In the past few years, toolbars, have undergone an unrecognized revolution in strength and functionality. So, we decided to create a site that would provide consumers with a central clearing house for all of these valuable, free tools. We are launching the service with about 200 free toolbars and anticipate that this number will grow quickly," Judson added.
For toolbar owners, basic participation in the directory is free. Toolbar Station is divided into multiple categories that include search engines, social networking, shopping, local search, communications, business, Internet marketing and development, sports, health, games, personal interests, age groups, travel, and utilities. If a toolbar is not listed in the directory, owners can submit their toolbars with a simple form located at the site.
Judson also noted that the site has an automated function that makes it easy for toolbar owners to purchase advertising that promotes their toolbars to prospective users. "We also wanted to create a place where toolbar owners could promote these terrific capabilities to our pre-sold audience," he added.
Toolbar Station is an unincorporated subsidiary of Speed Anywhere, Inc., which is Bruce Judson's wholly owned corporation for new Web ventures. Judson is a Senior Faculty Fellow at the Yale School of Management, a bestselling author, and one of the nation's leading experts on marketing and entrepreneurship on the Web. In the 1990's, Judson was the co-founder of TimeWarner's new media initiatives.
