SavySoftware Distributes Free Phonics Reading Program During Literacy Crisis

And the timing couldn't have been more relevant. Just yesterday, America's Promise Alliance published a startling report that put the nation's public school systems in literal peril.

According to the 2008 Spring report, a little over half of all high school students graduate in 50 major cities. The trickle-down effect of this statistic puts 1 out of every 3 students in danger of facing homelessness, welfare enrollment, or crime. And it's an effect that puts our nation in a state of didactical emergency.

Interviewed by CBS' Katie Couric, Secretary of State Colin Powell calls the report disturbing and reflective of a problem that begins in elementary and middle school.

"Randy's Reading Program" teaches students in grades K-3 how to read with professional graphics, voiceovers, hands-off video tutorials, and a rich vocabulary full of both short and long vowels, blends, ends, silent letters, multi-syllable words, unique spelling patterns and more. Designed to run on all versions of Windows, the 1st installment of Randy's Reading Program was released March 30, 2008.

"Although the program takes every advantage of today's technology, it preserves the value of good-old-fashioned one-on-one tutorship and literally points its users along the path from recognizing and associating letter sounds with a vocabulary comparable to that of a seventh-grade student."

The program has already been heralded as a conducive resolution. Within just 24 hours of introducing the program's first installment, SavySoftware set up correspondence with over 23 schools and 28 very excited teachers.
