You'll probably notice that plus size ladies buy an evening gown that doesn't fit them, a huge mistake. Some look at their size and don't know what the right size is, resulting in an evening gown that is too small or too large. Their sense of style suffers because of this. Evening gowns that are too large are just as inappropriate as too small. It is important to remember that a beautiful dress is supposed to fit your body properly. When you are in the wrong dress, you will feel out of place and not so good. Simple cuts of dresses, such as A-line and sheath are very flattering to plus-size women. Either one of these types of dresses in a dark color, such as black or navy blue, is sure to look like a million dollars on you. Once you have determined what your best feature is you will want to find a dress that plays that up to the greatest extent. For example, if it is your long legs you might want to choose an evening dress with a sexy side slit. If you like your shoulder then an off-the-shoulder dress paired with an attractive necklace and earrings might be just the thing for you. On the other hand if you like your neck and your breasts you might want to go with a plunging V-neck dress (or for the modest plus size gal, a V-neck that is not so plunging!). Although there is a time and place for trendy dresses, a glamorous social event is not one of them. This is the time for a simple but classic dress. A timeless dress will enable your natural beauty to shine through without the fussiness and extra features that may detract from the overall picture you want to project. Keep accessories to a minimum. A few carefully chosen pieces will suffice. Less, when done right, can be interpreted as more!
